We drove to the Cambodian border. First, we walked to the Lao checkout where the man asked for £1 each to leave. Then we walked to the border to go through the 'health quarantine', where the officer was going to charge Riona $2 as an adult. When we told him she was 13 his face looked like he had seen a ghost! The health screen is simply a way of getting money out of you as they don't really check your health at all. We then went to sign out our visa forms for staying in the country. Finally, we had to pay $125 dollars to get into Cambodia.
